ABC News Breakfast co-host Michael Rowland has used social media to inform his audience he been required to take a break from the program because:

I won’t be on Breakfast News this week as I’m isolating at home.

One of my kids has been deemed to be a close contact of a COVID case at the supermarket they work at.

It’s frustrating, but I’ll do whatever I can to stop the spread of the virus. Get vaccinated!!

Rowland is the latest breakfast TV presenter to miss shows due to the need to self isolate. Last month, Sunrise news presenter Edwina Bartholomew was forced to isolate for 14 days after a member of the programs production team tested positive to the virus.

Studio 10 co-host Tristan MacManus was also required to enter isolation after having close contact with a barista working in the same building.
