Phyllis Mary Saliture
1942 – 2021
This is the story of Phyllis Mary Saliture. Phyllis was an amazing woman who is loved, missed, and will always be cherished. Our “Phyllie,” as she liked to be called by her close family, was an amazing wife, mom, daughter, teammate, and friend.
Phyllis’s story started on December 4, 1942, the oldest child to Roger and Arlene Emrich. She was born in Appleton, Wisconsin where she would spend her childhood, grow up, and go to school. Her brother Jim remembers fond memories of the two of them ordering Sammy’s pizza when their parents were out bowling or playing cards. She attended college and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Eau Claire. Phyllis moved to Racine, Wisconsin where she became a High School teacher.
She married Frank Anthony Saliture in July of 1968 and they resided in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Phyllis and Frank spent many years together working and living in Kenosha where they raised their children, Lisa Jo Saliture and John Roger Saliture.
Phyllis worked over 30 years as an Economic Support Specialist for the Division of Workforce development in the County of Kenosha where she helped many people overcome adversity in her community. Coworkers recall how Phyllis was always a joy to work with, smart as a whip and knew her job well. She was one of the kindest people.
Phyllis enjoyed being part of local volleyball, softball, and bowling teams. She always gave 100% to help her team win! She loved cooking amazing family meals, playing piano, reading and binge watching her favorite Netflix and Hulu shows.
Loved ones, who cleared the path for Phyllis are her father Roger Emrich, and her mother, Arlene Emrich. Loved ones who will miss Phyllis until they meet again are her daughter Lisa Jo Saliture and her significant other Yates Randall; her son and daughter in-law John Roger Saliture and Karen Wilman Saliture; her brother and sister-in law James Emrich and wife Cindy Emrich; their children Tristan and Elyssa Emrich, her step grandchild Caitlyn Rivers and fur Grandchild, Jack.
